The partnership between Longines and the Jumping Owners Club (JOC) has gone from strength to strength since 2019 when the Swiss watch brand became the Official Partner of the Club to widely support the JOC in its development and activities within the equestrian community. The ties that bind Longines and the equestrian world date back to 1869, when the brand produced a silver pocket watch with a horse head engraved on the back. Later in 1878, the company developed a chronograph movement fitted in a case engraved with a jockey and his mount; this model enabled its user to time performances to the second and was extremely popular among jockeys and horse-lovers. Today, Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports represents the perfect match with the brand’s image and philosophy, as the brand strives to support the finest talents in flat racing, show jumping, dressage and eventing by sharing the same values – performance, elegance and tradition.
