Mrs Madeleine Winter-Schulze awarded the Longines Owner of the Year

The Jumping Owners Club was extremely honoured to award the prestigious Longines Owner of the Year to Mrs Madeleine Winter-Schulze on Friday 10 January 2025 at the Longines CHI Classics Basel. Recognized as one of the most outstanding owners of show jumping, dressage and eventing horses in the world, Mrs. Winter-Schulze is the owner of the 2024 Olympic Gold Medal winning horse CHECKER 47 ridden by Christian Kukuk. The award ceremony took place during the Longines CHI Classics Basel (SUI), in the presence of Bernardo Tribolet, Longines Vice President Marketing, and Caroline Blatchford, Vice Chairman of the Jumping Owners Club. This award, created in 2004 and approved by the FEI, recognizes the important involvement of horse owners in the sport of show jumping. It is proudly supported by the Swiss watch brand Longines, which is the Official Partner of the Jumping Owners Club.

For several decades, Madeleine Winter-Schulze has supported show jumping worldwide by giving riders access to exceptional horses that enable them to compete at the highest level. She has been the top supporter of German multi-Olympic medallist Ludger Beerbaum and his stable of riders and horses.

Mrs Robin Parsky, Chairman of the Jumping Owners Club, said, “We are very excited this year to present the Jumping Owners Club award for the most outstanding owner in show jumping to the wonderful horsewoman Mrs. Madeline Winter-Schulze. I have been an admirer of Madeleine for many years and have read so many inspiring articles about her involvement with her horses. She has served as an inspiration to many worldwide. We salute you today Madeleine and we thank you for all the support and encouragement you have given over the years to the sport of showjumping.”

The Award, an original art piece representing a horse head in solid silver, has been awarded to Mrs Madeleine Winter-Schulze by Bernardo Tribolet, Longines Vice President Marketing, and Caroline Blatchford, JOC Vice Chairman, on the main arena of the Longines CHI Classics Basel. Mrs Winter-Schulze also received a Longines watch.

The next two owners in the ranking are at the 2nd place, Mrs Signe Otsby (owner of Caracole de la Roque and Kalinka van’t Zorgvliet, ridden by Karl Cook for USA), and at the 3rd place, Mr Georg Kaehny (owner of King Edward and Iliana, ridden by Henrik von Eckermann for Sweden).
